Approaching the Lower Rapids between Sonora and Quadra Islands

I spent part of August paddling from The Padder’s Inn on Gilford Island to Powell River, mostly via the “back channels” between the islands large and small. Here are  a few moments from a memorable journey.

Spring tides meant a tent would be underwater on many beaches. My hammock came in handy.

Almost at the take out. Camped on the south side of Savary Island, not far from Powell River. A high tide and South West winds flooded this beach just after I launched the next morning.
