I spent part of August paddling from The Padder’s Inn on Gilford Island to Powell River, mostly via the “back channels” between the islands large and small. Here are a few moments from a memorable journey.
A misty morning landing
Not hard to see which way the winter wind blows.
An easy supper after a long day on the water
Ready for a good night’s rest.
Spring tides would have flooded my tent on many beaches. My hammock came in handy.

Taken while I snorkled. The red “flower” is in fact an animal that feeds by straining food from the sea’s currents.
Almost at the take out. Camped on the south side of Savary Island, not far from Powell River. A high tide and South West winds flooded this beach just after I launched the next morning.
